Dr. YEUNG Yeung 楊揚醫生

Specialist in Orthopaedics and Traumatology

Dr. Yeung Yeung graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1998. Inspired by Professor John C. Y. Leong, she committed herself to Orthopaedic Surgery and completed her orthopaedic training at the Queen Mary Hospital. She obtained her fellowship from the Hong Kong College of Orthopaedics Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Orthopaedics in 2006. She was awarded the Arthur Yau Award Paper in HKCOS 2002.

While working as a general Orthopaedic Surgeon in the government hospital, she recognised the urge to extend further effort in foot and ankle surgery. This was a relatively under-covered area with limited recognition and resources. She extended her sub-specialty training in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital as a devoted foot and ankle team member and later pursued overseas training with Professor Michael Stephen in Dublin, Ireland, where she worked with numerous world renowned surgeons in Europe including Professor Beat Hintermann in Basel and Professor Pascal Rippstein in Zurich.

Dr. Yeung commenced her private practice in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2009 with a special interest in foot and ankle surgery. She is pleased to be recognised as a foot and ankle specialist among the orthopaedic practices in Hong Kong. She has always held a belief that only by concentrating on a narrow but in-depth knowledge in a sub- specialised field that outstanding service can be provided. She had been serving as a visiting consultant for the Cirque Du Soleil in Macau and she was the designated foot and ankle surgeon with Cirque Du Soleil and House of Dancing Water in Macau. She has gained her precious experience while helping ballet dancers from local HK Ballet and Academy of Performance Arts in Hong Kong with their foot and ankle injuries.

Outside of her workplace, she keeps up her effort in developing the field of foot and ankle surgery. She was appointed as a member of the Hong Kong Orthopaedic Association and the organising committee of Hong Kong Orthopaedic Association Annual Congress 2011. She is also an active member of the Foot and Ankle Group in Hong Kong and is currently a reviewer for the Hong Kong Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Journal of Orthopaedics, Trauma and Rehabilitation. She regularly delivers presentations and talks to local and regional meetings as well.

As an Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Yeung keeps a close relationship with the University of Hong Kong and the Queen Mary Hospital. She is also a teaching surgeon at the Hong Kong College of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Yeung’s belief in the role of collective community has motivated her to be involved in voluntary services for Medecins Sans Frontieres in Jordan in 2007. At present, she is regularly involved in a missionary medical service in Henan, China and Yunnan China.

As an avid sportswoman, Dr. Yeung has a special interest in softball, diving, hiking and running.
